Sheep Shearing

Sheep Shearing Day — Each Spring we have to sheer BB, Dizzy and Stevie so we have our annual Sheep Shearing Day. In the past we have had an educational gathering of 100+ families that allows family and friends to explore farming life, witness our sheep getting sheared and receiving their vaccinations, and observe how to reuse, reduce & recycle in ways that are attainable. While roaming the property to the folk music of the Jackson Pike Skifflers, people get to experience first-hand holding new baby chicks, feeling freshly shorn fleece and learning about what we do with it, walking the woods to experience the beauty and wonder and how we keep it pristine, seeing the bees take off from their landing pads of their hives, and much more. The hopeful take-away is that we can all make adjustments that are not inconveniences.

Thank you for visiting!

We aspire to think globally, act locally, and make a difference in our own backyard, literally!
